Code Of Ethics
National Association Of REALTORS® Code Of Ethics
The Ombudsman Program is a telephone mediation service that provides assistance to a member of the public or a NCIAR member who finds themselves in a dispute with a member of our board. This program consists of fair and credible individuals who volunteer their time, and their role is to listen and develop an understanding to give you a possible solution for your concern. Any form of communication throughout the Ombudsman Process is confidential. If you would like to resolve your issue through the Ombudsman Program, or have any questions about the process, please contact our board office at (574) 935-3940.

Before Filing An Ethics Complaint
Please keep in mind that only REALTORS® are subject to the Code Of Ethics. Boards and associations of REALTORS® are responsible for enforcing the REALTORS® Code of Ethics.
The Code of Ethics imposes duties above and in addition to those imposed by law or regulation which apply only to real estate professionals who choose to become REALTORS®. Many difficulties between real estate professionals (whether REALTORS® or not) result from misunderstanding, miscommunication, or lack of adequate communication.
If you have a problem with a real estate professional, you may want to speak with them or with a principal broker in the firm. Open, constructive discussion often resolves questions or differences, eliminating the need for further action.
